STARTPOST TITLE: Taunting the Donkey AUTHOR: Damian DATE: 4/12/2006 10:05:00 PM ----- BODY:
I never understood why people taunt the donks. I've seen it many times where someone gets rivered by a player who obviously does not have any concept of odds. Just recently I had 45o on the button and everyone folded around to me. Naturally I raised 4x bb to try to steal the blinds. For some reason the Big Blind thinks he should call to protect his blinds. Flop comes 245 rainbow and I've now got 2 pair. Of course, BB flopped the straight with 36o. It did

Now instead of calling him a donkey and mouthing off, I just kept quiet and knew I would eventually get my money back. I'm sure lots of people have been in this type of situation where you've been rivered by a bad caller, but making them feel uncomfortable isn't going to make things better. Unless you like seeing that person leave the table with your money.

If you truly believe that the player is a donkey then keep it to yourself. Don't let other people know or they'll take advantage before you can. Or even worse, the donkey will just leave and take the easy money off the table.
